An incredibly popular option with both interior designers and design-conscious home owners, mirror TVs may sound counter-intuitive but they are an easy and effective solution for rooms where a hidden TV is desirable.
We have worked on several mirror TV solutions for our clients, particularly in London townhouses and know that almost any dimensions and frames can be used to create a mirror TV that suits the style and proportions of a room.
One of our main suppliers has a large catalogue of mirror frame styles available and can also use a frame supplied by a client or interior designer, as long as minimum dimensions are met. Even an existing mirror can be repurposed into a mirror TV, simply by replacing the glass and keeping the original frame.
At Philharmonic AV, we use a glass type that works beautifully as both mirror and TV, with a minimal compromise to the quality of either. However, it is important to note that opting for a mirror TV will result in a compromise of some kind.
Typically, there are three types of mirror glass. At one end of the scale, there is glass that looks the most mirror-like but with a fair degree of compromise to the quality of the TV. At the other extreme, there is a darker glass that has the least mirror-like appearance but has only a minimal effect on the TV quality. Finally, a middle solution results in a fairly equal compromise to both.
